Our execution of the lease was simple and we were approved quickly. We were sent a video of a similar unit to ours and toured a one bedroom, but didn’t get to see our exact unit as the prior tenants didn’t move out yet. Alexus, who coordinated everything was super helpful and let us come in before our move in date (after tenants moved out) to take measurements and such.

Move in experience: 5/5
We had an easy move, the elevators were not busy and we had access from the garage, so we didn’t block the street. Alexus left detailed instructions on how to retrieve our keys (we moved in super early around 7 am, before the leasing office was open) which was super helpful and also a simple process. We were thrilled to find a box of Girl Scout cookies waiting for us on the counter.

Amenities: 4.5/5
I’m really impressed with the facilities and the pool seems to be clean. This is a pet friendly apartment complex so you will see dogs in the hallway. Everyone has been friendly so far and we can’t hear them or their pets from our unit. The only reason for half point off is because of our parking spot. There were no spots available on the B side of the building, so now we have to walk a little ways to get to the B building elevator. We are on a waiting list, hoping someone else from B side moves out and we can take over their spaces closer to the elevator!

A note on the train noise:

Honestly this wasn’t a major issue for us, and the train noise was disclosed (and heard) during our tour. From outside, yes it is very loud. From inside the unit we can hear it, but we got used to it after 3 nights. For the size of this apartment (more than 1,000 sq ft) great amenities and friendly team… this place is definitely worth.

The leasing office did a great job of explaining all the amenities of the apartment. Alexus did such a great job and was able to address a parking situation we had. The apartment was clean when we moved in and and maintenance has always been timely.

We were having some issues with the parking situation and she was quick to listen to our concerns and provide a solution!

She gave us a lot of fair warning about the closeness of the train, how often it goes by and let us wait to hear it for ourselves during the showing. The move in process was easy and the building is well maintained and quick to respond to questions and concerns. I would recommend to anyone in the market for a rental apartment in the area.

I’m not sure how long Alexus has been around for but I’ve certainly appreciated her efforts in helping me move recently. Me and my partner were looking for a 2BR/BA apartment and initially had not considered to continue my rental at 888 (for reasons such as lighting in my apartment and space). However, on a whim, my partner considered 888 and decided we should at least tour the available units. Alexus was kindly responsive to our queries and showed us what we requested to see. While mostly on the fence after seeing the 2BR/2BA apartments, she then showed us a 1BR/BA that we were passing by.

Little did we know that we that it ended up being our top choice! We needed very little time to think about it and when we were ready, so was she! She helped make the move a breeze, covering all additional questions. Her kind and positive attitude made us feel welcomed and I sincerely appreciated her attention to detail as I had many questions as well as added complexity with my month to month lease. She ensured that I would get everything in writing and gave me a timeframe when I would expect a response. Alexus and Randi were awesome and again, thank you for showing us the apartment that we ended up loving!

I do look forward to seeing them around as a friendly face that helped us quickly become comfortable and for me to continue calling 888 my home!

Her professionalism, attention to detail, and friendly approach made the leasing process smooth and stress-free for me. Even when I had to go out of town for a family emergency, Alexus made it so easy for me. I really appreciate her prompt responses to my inquiries and the thorough assistance she offered throughout.

From the initial tenant screening to the final lease signing, she demonstrated a high level of expertise and made the entire experience seamless. I've been staying at 888 San Mateo since September 2023 and I've had a great experience so far. I moved here into a studio apartment for a new job and was apprehensive about the apartment search but I'm glad I chose this one! The move in process was very smooth and I haven't had any issues since moving in. Service requests are fulfilled very quickly and I really appreciate the fact that there's plenty of guest parking so my guests don't have to struggle to park their car like they've had to when I lived in other apartment complexes. My apartment is facing the street so while I can hear the trains right behind the apartment, it isn't so loud to the point where it disturbs me, however, not sure if this is a problem for apartments facing the tracks. Another small issue is that living on the second floor, my window is blocked by the trees facing the street so I don't get a lot of natural light. These are small issues though.
Amenities are clean and the complex itself is also kept very clean. I'm happy to call this place home!
