Absolutely love staying at this fantastic boutique hostel! From the moment you walk in you feel like you’ve time traveled back to when style and atmosphere were important.
We have stayed a few times, room #6 is our favorite. It’s clean with a comfortable bed and adorable decoration. The shared spaces are perfect for meeting fellow travelers and sharing stories.
This is a self-check in and out facility. If you read your welcome email, all the information you need is clearly described. After reading the reviews, its clear many people don’t. The staff keep the place clean and if you encounter them are polite and accommodating.
The location is great with a Von’s grocery (with a Starbucks) a block away, and several hopping bars and clubs withing walking distance. Late night food is just a block or two away as well.
I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking a unique Experience.

Pleasant experience for the price. The bathrooms are really clean even though they’re shared. The rooms are small but that’s fine - we didn’t love the plastic covers on the mattress but guess they’re necessary? We did find our room to be far too warm so woke up early every day (even with the fan on) the walls are pretty thin so if others are being loud you’ll hear everything.
Didn’t see a member of staff but didn’t need to. Decent spot for a place to sleep!

I really wanted to like this place. The decor is unique and the area is ideal for what we were doing. Unfortunately, the room we had featured no windows and the upstairs neighbor decided to blast music at very high volumes at night, like at 1am. They stomped a lot, too. Ear plugs were provided but that coupled with the stiff air and a hardly functional fan made for a tough sleep. Overall, the facilities were great and I have no qualms with that. In all likelihood though, I don’t think I’ll return.

A hidden gem! I’ve stayed @ many hotels, so a shared space was new to me. & what a pleasant surprise it was. Upon entering, I felt as though I was walking into a time zone. From wall to wall, ceiling to ceiling, there were captivating glimpses of another time before me. I realized I that I had treated myself to several nights stay in a museum.

The cleaning team here has a 5 star plus in my book. Every nook & cranny has been gone over with a fine toothed comb. Rooms & bathrooms were impeccably clean. Thank you!

Looking forward to returning next year!

My boyfriend and I needed last minute lodging and had a great stay. I didn't realize there was a self check in until we arrived, but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Coincidentally some of our favorite places in LA were just around the corner. There are plenty of food and drink options on Sunset Blvd and all within walking distance.
We loved the design aesthetic on the B side. It was cozy and quiet. There were two clean full bathrooms available. The room was comfy and on the small side but perfect for an overnight. A great value for our stay.

If you're looking for a 5⭐ hotel experience service this probably isn't the place for you. The Rosemary was like staying at a friend's house while they are out of town.

My only suggestion is improving the electric socket plates in the room (Rm 5). I was trying to charge my phone but it was difficult to get a snug fit into the socket. (No euphemisms here) Regardless I'd stay at Rosemary again.
