Our Family has been staying here for years. One of the main reasons we stay here instead of a beach house is because of the pier. We love to watch the sunset every night and our kids have always enjoyed using the pier for fishing. The Bay Resort used to be a very family friendly hotel and the pier was always a safe place for kids. This year wasn't like any of the previous years we've stayed here. We weren't able to use most of the amenities because of people who weren't even staying at the hotel. The hotel allowed groups of strangers to walk into the property and completely takeover the gazebo and several of the chairs that are meant for guests at hotel. In the past we've always felt comfortable letting our kids go out on the pier even though we can't see it from the side of the hotel where we usually stay. This year the pier was full of people who weren't even guests at the hotel. Some of them were very rude and told our kids they weren't allowed to fish next to them. We definitely never had this problem before and didn't feel comfortable letting them go behind the hotel or out on the pier unattended like we usually do. We were only able to enjoy the bay 2 out of the 5 nights we stayed here this year. What's the point of staying here if you don't even get to use the amenities? We might as well just get a ocean front rental and just walk into the Bay Resort for free like everyone else does.

My first experience with Beckie came when I accidently booked the WRONG DATE through booking.com. She was so helpful and responsive to seeing that I was refunded and carefully explained the process to me, so I could remedy the situation. Then she calmly found me a suitable room for the appropriate date. It was a late hour and she was so helpful.

Then their next front desk person, Erin, an absolute sweetheart allowed for me a little extra time in a room to get ready in a room before I had to take off for a wedding. They didn't have to do that, but it was so gracious and nice of them. Erin made me feel like part of the family so far away from my own family.

I've never met a hotel that truly made me feel like one of the family! If I'm ever back in deleware, I'm certainly staying there to hang with Erin and Beckie!

We just got back from another wonderful stay at the best accommodations that Dewey Beach has to offer~ the finest amenities, the best location near all the restaurants, coffee shops, and the local bars and the most beautiful property with an incredible pool and booking a first floor bayside room is the absolute best~ coffee in the a.m. , having the perfect lunch and cocktails in the evening as the sun sets all the while with amazing views 24/7!! The staff, led by GM EXTRAORDINAIRE~TAMMY PARROTT ~ are on site making sure your stay is a memorable one. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR THIS IS A MUST GO!!!!! SOOOOO HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, VERY AFFORDABLE and YOU CAN FISH OUT YOUR BACK DOOR!!!!!

An absolutely amazing experience. I'd give it a 10/10 if I could. We will 100% be back.

We booked this trip for our anniversary and brought our dog along. The hotel (and entire town) is super dog-friendly. The staff love dogs and give extra doggie (poop) bags at check-in. No leash law in town but most keep dogs leashes on the street and unleash them on the beach. Dewey requires a temporary dog license but they're super cheap and easy to get.

Get Bayside rooms. I cannot emphasize how gorgeous the sunsets are. Property has a beautiful pier and right next to a place called 'Sunset Park' that has a nice gazebo and benches. Location is super convenient to Bottle and Cork, dog-friendly restaurants, and the beach isn't far at all.

The bay resort was perfect for our family beach getaway. Everything was walkable, the property is beautiful and it's located right in the heart of Dewey. We enjoyed relaxing on the lawn and the pool. The rooms were a little dated but that didn't bother us.

What a gem! The room and facility were spotless and the beds were comfy. The staff could not be any nicer. They were friendly, accommodating and nice people. Would recommend this and hope to stay again!

Nice hotel, friendly staff and lovely location. Just not fond of so many dogs outside our patio. Great for pet owners, but not if you want privacy on the first floor. Very expensive. Had reservations until Monday but had to leave early because they decided to close on our weekend.
