My husband and I came to Sonoma for our one-year anniversary earlier this month. We had read the positive reviews for Alexandra's Place and decided to try it. We were certainly not disappointed by our choice! ||||We didn't have one complaint during our stay. The house was immaculate and Cathie had thought of everything you could possibly need or may have forgotten to bring with you, and had it all pre-stocked. It especially impressed me when I had originally emailed her to inquire if our trip dates were available. Her response was personal to me (not automated) and made me feel special before we even decided to stay there.||||A few days before we arrived, Cathie wished us a safe trip in and purchased the type of milk we liked and had it stocked upon arrival. Cathie and Gene went out of their way to ensure the fridge and cabinets were stocked with other goodies for us to enjoy. My husband and I loved the orange and lemon trees outside the house. We enjoyed the fruit daily!||||I am a clean freak, and I am very picky about where we stay when it comes to cleanliness. Alexandra's Place was immaculate and kept up beautifully. It was 1.5 blocks from Sonoma Plaza (perfect location) which allowed us to truly enjoy the area. Cathie and Gene invited us to be their guests at the farm market that takes place each Tuesday evening in the plaza. Gene allowed us to try some of the wines he had made (Gene is a phenomenal wine maker! His wine was better than most of the other tasting rooms we went to.) My husband enjoys wine making, but had many questions of how to improve our skills back home. Gene took the time to explain some of the concepts to us and let us see where his wine making takes place. What a cool experience! Gene is a master at his trade, and is also incredibly humble. Cathie and Gene are the epitome of warm, welcoming people with impeccable character. We can't imagine coming back to Sonoma and staying anywhere else! You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay at Alexandra's Place!

Comfy cozy cottage tucked away a block from the square with everything needed for a relaxed stay. Lucked into an off season month & enjoyed the ease of walking to town, a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable queen bed & full bath (tub/shower combo), living/dining room and even a washer/dryer! Wonderful owners have thought of everything to make your stay pleasant. Mature citrus trees & a side garden add to the homey feel. A great alternative option to the local hotels & a perfect location for enjoying all that’s Sonoma. Tip: the owner makes awesome wine!

We so enjoyed our peaceful stay here this past weekend! Our names on the chalkboard outside our door greeted us on our fist steps into this charming little home away from home. The suite is setup like a guest house with all the amenities one could possibly need. Cathie had everything ready for our arrival- maps, helpful household notes, umbrellas, flashlights for town walks at night, a huge assortment of pillows, bathroom goodies in case you forgot something, a basket of bananas to go with the cereals/granola bars, a washer and dryer, the list could go on and on!! We had our own little outside seating area and sure wish we had been able to take more time to enjoy all the house had to offer. We came and went as we needed but knew someone was nearby if we needed anything at all. The house is just a short walk (couple of easy blocks) off the main plaza square so the location is ideal. Really a wonderful place to stay and we will most certainly return to stay again on our next Sonoma visit.

Stayed here Dec 2016 for two nights. Great hosts, comfortable bed with an amazing selection of pillows. (We are all different right?). Best part was the location. Super quiet on an extremely pretty street lined with houses - each one a house I would love to call home! Short walk to Plaza with all the restaurants, wine tastings, shops, banks and pubs. If I had to my trip over again I think I'd skip the wine tour and just wander around the square tasting wines. ||Kitchen well stocked - grab-and-go treats for breakfast like bananas and granola bars all very much appreciated! The side patio surrounded by lemon, lime and orange trees gave us attractive outdoor space that put this place way over the top for us!||What did I hate? leaving 🙂

To be honest I'd rather keep this little gem to myself but I'll share. If you dream of the perfect getaway spot for a holiday with everything on hand and absolute peace and quiet the you have it. This apartment is just a short walk from Sonoma Plaza but is secluded and beautifully quiet. Every detail has been thought of from a welcome note through Jack London stories and laundry soap, local guides and coffee filters, air conditioning and spare towels, a flash light for nighttime walking and fresh fruit. There is even a variety of pillows for the discerning neck. The parking is off-street and the wifi is excellent. There is a lovely outdoor area to relax for a quiet lazy breakfast. And then if you want to leave, then there is Sonoma.

To say that this is an excellent property, with outstanding hosts, is actually an understatement. If you are fortunate enough to be able to book this property, do so at your first opportunity. Not only is the property well-appointed, with lovely furnishings, bedding, linens, etc..., but it also has all of the kitchen tools, utensils and appliances that anyone could wish for. Having grown up in the area, their suggestions for activities, museums, wine venues, antiquing, shopping, etc... were so insightful. They were most kind and welcoming, but never interfered, and gave us all of the privacy and distance we desired. The location was peaceful, but so very convenient to the Sonoma Square and all of the attractions there. We could easily walk to restaurants and shops, and there was a bike/hike trail nearby that lead to a wonderful Sonoma Market. It soon felt like home to us. We had booked a month-long stay, but we will certainly recommend this to anyone for whatever the length of their stay might be. We've visited Sonoma on several occasions, and this stay definitely is the best we've had.

Cathie and Gene were excellent hosts. The guest house has everything one could need. Location couldn't be better! Price is very reasonable, esp. for this area. Lovely covered patio area with candles and silk flowers, a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine. Comfortable bed! Free wi-fi. Everything you might need is provided. The only (minor) tradeoff is that because everything you might need is provided, there is little space for your own stuff, it felt a little cramped. But no worries.. All in all a very nice stay, would recommend.

WONDERFUL, the location, the accommodation and the tremendous hospitality of the owners. ||||Just one block from Sonoma Plaza with many nice restaurant and wine bars. A gorgeous cozy one bedroom lodge with all amenities (even a washing machine!) and private patio. The owners , Cathie & Gene, are the nicest and accommodating hosts you will ever meet.||||Thank you so much, we had a lovely time and hope to come back.
