I was working as a union construction worker in the Shasta area and needed a place to stay right away. The people at Siskiyou Cottages were very kind to me and found me a cute little cottage with a beautiful view. They even welcomed my dog Arrow. My place was nicely furnished and very comfortable. I was surprised by how at home I felt and how well I slept every night. It was even more shocking how affordable the rates are. Dunsmuir is a beautiful little mountain town and I would reccomend Siskiyou cottages to anyone who needs a place to stay whether for the night, a week, a month or a year. The people who manage it are really very friendly and sweet.

We stayed in Unit #4 in March. It was a two-bedroom little unit with a family room, kitchen, dining table, kids bedroom and bedroom with a queen bed. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was fully-stocked, there were extra linens in the closets, and they had books to read. Roger, the owner, and Marshall, the manager (?), met us when we arrived and gave us some ideas of things to do during our stay. They had just set up a DVD player with the TV, which was nice since we brought along some DVDs.||Of course, in Dunsmuir, everything is centrally located, so it was a great location for all we were doing in Dunsmuir and Shasta. It's only about 5-10 minutes to Shasta, and a quiet retreat from the busier Shasta.||The owners were so gracious and offered to help us with everything, and made our stay comfortable as could be.||I definitely recommend staying at Amma's Lodge when visiting Dunsmuir or Shasta!

We've been there for 2012 Christmas break to spend time @ Mt. Shasta as a family with our dog. A quaint, family friendly place to relax. Nothing fancy like a 5 star hotel, but nice. Very honest people, that they mailed us an item we forgot in the cottage. Many thanks to them. The Lily's restaurant nearby was wonderful. We will visit & stay again.

I came on the first of June, 2012, and stayed for a month. It's not fancy, but everything works. And the room was clean. Roger, the owner, answers the phone, and he gave personal attention to my needs. The lodge is in a quiet location, one mile from the center of Dunsmuir. I highly recommend it for low-budget travelers.
