Es un hotel encantador, con unos dueños bastante atentos y que tienen bastantes detalles, aunque cometieron un error con nosotros, que nos complicó un poco la estancia. Perdieron nuestra reserva y nos enviaron la primera noche a un motel de calidad claramente inferior. Tras esa noche, la dueña nos llamó al día siguiente para que ya por fin fuéramos a alojarnos. A partir de ese día todo fueron amabilidad y buenas atenciones. La habitación es muy agradable y cómoda, aunque carece de nevera y microondas privados. La limpieza es excelente y el servicio es bueno. Es de los hoteles, de los que he estado, que más se esmera en dar desayunos variados, pero siguen siendo los desayunos de siempre de colegio basados en huevos, fruta troceada, tostar panes, panqueques, algún muffin, cereales y yogures, si bien un día había croissanes caseros que no estaban mal. Por otro lado, es un hotel que cuenta con un piano de media cola, algo desvencijado, pero en el que se puede tocar un poco. Respecto a la primera noche que tuvimos que pasar en otro hotel, finalmente y tras reclamar, recibimos una compensación económica, por lo que el hotel Arroyo Vista Inn se portó bastante bien asumiendo el error cometido y tratando de solucionarlo.

The inn is nicely kept, plenty of seating in common areas. Room 10 had a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. The reason for a 3: no one greets you on arrival, “happy hour” was 2 bottles of wine left on a sideboard and a few packages of ritz crackers with fake cheese. Breakfast was ok, nothing more than basic and inn keeper was a bit unorganized. Overall an okay experience but probably wouldn’t stay here again.

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER. Picked up key in "lobby" when we arrived and it was marked "B1." We looked around for a map or guide, but nothing. So we assumed "B" mean the second level of the house and went up to find Room 1 open and assumed it was ours (we had arrived when we said we would, so figured they had opened the room for us). But the key didn't work so not the right room? Looked around the house and yelled into the office for help. Nothing, so we called the number for the inn and they said they would send someone to help us. Guy came and said our room is "in the back" (that is, NOT in the house as advertised). He walked us down the driveway past all kinds of crap (see photos) to another building where they had converted some portion of what might have been a basement into a tiny room (400 sq. ft.). The guy asked our plans for the next day "because we're going to making noise upstairs doing some work." Sure enough a racket ensued the next day, hammering, etc. Next to our "room" was another of these converted spaces and because there is absolutely no soundproofing, we were subjected to the loud and clear sounds of the couple next door having sex. Then, we got the whole post-coital talk as well. There was no dresser or closet in the room, just a coat rack. One bar of soap to move from sink to shower. No kleenex. No cups. Not enough parking spaces, especially if you come back late at night. An f'ing ripoff. Don't know how these owners sleep at night--except I know it's not in B1! If you go to this place, make sure you know which room you are getting before you pay.

We booked through daystay.com to celebrate our anniversary. We decided to come here for some R and R and have the opportunity to get ready to go out to dinner without our kids interfering. Sadly the inn staff made sure that this happened.. We started to get phone calls and 2 knocks on the door 20 min before our check out time. Then we were confronted by the housekeeper asking us what time we were leaving. This disturbance was rude and unprofessional. We felt like we were being pushed out and treated less equal because we didn’t book through the inns direct website.

To make matters worse. I attempted to raise these concerns to management the day after and we have gotten no response. It has been 2 days without any explanation

I will never ever stay here again. We will make it a point to tell all of our contacts friends and family about this terrible establishment.

What a wonderful stay! My only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer - I was in and out for business. Run by a family, the place is spotless. They have a casual happy hour late afternoon with wine and snacks - an opportunity to meet your fellow guests. My room had a lovely shared patio looking out to the mountains. The bed was super comfortable, and I had a desk to work on. I was cramming for work, so ordered delivery from a long list of excellent restaurants the B&B provided. And will take this opportunity to thank them for accommodating my special request. Highly recommend this lovely inn - perfect for a couple's weekend getaway or a family trip.

I have been going to Arroyo Vista Inn for nearly a decade. This is a home away from home where I have stayed and have brought family and friends, all of whom enjoyed their stays tremendously. As a resident of South Pasadena, there have been occasions where I've needed an escape from the intense heat, issues with my own residence or just a getaway from it all as I did last Sunday. I've stayed in many of the rooms, all with their charms and singularities but my current favourite is room number 4, Daybreak Terrace, because it has a gorgeous clawfoot tub. I spent a relaxing evening soaking and listening to the owl hooting outside my window and the quiet chant of critckets. I've been caretaking for a very ill relative so this one night escape left me feeling like I'd had a long weekend. The room has lovely details, a four poster bed and faces the mountainside and its greenery. I highly recommend Arroyo Vista for its welcoming rooms, spotlessly clean and comfortable spaces and old world (1910) charm with modern conveniences.

Had fun getting to know the other guests during happy hour and meeting our hosts. Breakfast was tasty and made to order. Location was a short drive from the attractions we wanted to see. We'll be glad to visit again.
