My husband and I can’t rave enough about our wedding in the gardens of the Durham House Inn! It was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding venue. Something intimate and cozy. Something that felt like a well loved home! The Innkeepers, James and Cheryl, were so accomodating to anything we might need! Since we wanted a Fall wedding, we chose early November but knew we would risk rain. Luckily the rain stopped in the morning but James and Cheryl were both there for whatever we needed to make sure our guests were comfortable! It worked out perfectly for us to stay the night in the cottage with part of our bridal party staying in the rooms of the Inn. We got so many compliments from our guests on the charm of the venue!! It’s like a secret garden in there under the canopy coverage. So many beautiful little knooks to explore and places to take photos! We highly recommend the Durham House if you’re looking for a historic garden wedding!

I had my wedding here this past June and I have nothing but great things to say about the owners, James and Cheryl, and their beautiful bed and breakfast. The grounds are stunning with so many beautiful photo opportunities and spaces to set up a ceremony, reception, dance floor, bar, etc. James and Cheryl were so accommodating and helpful when it came to the wedding planning and hosting my family in the main house. Everyone loved staying in the beautifully curated rooms and enjoyed the breakfasts Cheryl prepared each morning. The cottage was equally as beautiful and intimate. My only regret is that we did not have enough time to enjoy the pool! If you are looking for a historic, romantic, and verdant wedding venue, then look no further!

We have stayed at this beautiful and historic Victorian home 4 times and in four seasons. We have stayed in various rooms and all have been a delight. The grounds are amazing with a wide variety of trees and plants, garden sculptures,and unique works of art. Cheryl and James are wonderful hosts and the breakfast always delicious. The swimming pool is a plus for those hot summer days. As a professional photographer I just love strolling the grounds photographing the beauty that is here. Having to travel to the chico area several times a year, staying here is our first choice . Also in Durham there is a fantastic mexican restaurant as well as a wonderful winery.

We rented out the entire B&B (3 bedrooms each with a private bathroom and patio), including the adorable 1 bedroom detached guest house for our wedding weekend. The parents of the bride and groom, as well as the siblings stayed in the main house, while we used the guest house as the bridal suite. Cheryl and James (owners- live on site) were absolutely fabulous. Cheryl was so warm and really made us feel welcome and so well taken care of. And oh my lord can she cook! We had delicious breakfasts consisting of fresh juices and coffee accompanying gourmet meals each morning, lovingly prepared and served by Cheryl. ||As far as the wedding party details, James and Cheryl both went above and beyond in helping us plan, and set up the various event spaces. We used their entire, lush, romantic, and fun property! There were groups playing lawn games, people dancing on their dance floor beneath a beautiful chandelier hanging from a massive oak tree, and kiddies swimming in the pool. Cheryl also coordinated with both the band we had booked, as well as our caterer, without being asked, to make sure they had everything they needed to pull off a seamless party for 100 guests. ||If I could leave more than 5 stars I would! Don't miss this gem, hidden amongst orchards! Thank you again Cheryl and James for making our wedding reception everything I had dreamed it could be!

This was a return trip to the Durham House Inn for me. I absolutely love this B and B!||It starts with the owners, James and Cheryl. They are super accomodating and will do everything they can to make sure your stay is perfect! But they won't have to do much, as the stay there is ALWAYS perfect!||||The rooms are quaint with period piece decorations. The plumbing is all modern and the bed is extremely comfortable.||||But the most amazing thing is the breakfast! Wow. Unbelievably good and huge portions!||||You won't be disappointed. A mere 10 minutes from downtown Chico and well worth the drive!

After visiting just about every venue in Butte county, we decided to have our wedding here in September 2021. James and Cheryl were so friendly and accommodating to our needs throughout the entire process. The gardens are stunning during the day and pure magic at night, and there are endless opportunities for gorgeous photos. Durham House is Chico's best kept wedding secret.

We stayed here 2 nights for a small family get together and this place was absolutely amazing. The Victorian home has been beautifully restored and is full of antiques and pottery. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean, and very charming. The surrounding area is quiet relaxing and the inn keepers are on the premise and are always available if needed. And the breakfast!!!||||I grew up in a Victorian house so for me I felt so at home here. Perfect place to stay to relax and enjoy the simple things. The kind of place where you don’t lock your doors at night. ||||Go into the little town of Durham and shop the most amazing antique stores. It’s 15 minutes away from Chico so stay here for some peace and quiet. Highly recommended. Already planning our trip back.

THE BEST B&B TO DATE! James and Cheryl ( The Hosts and owners ) where very friendly and gave a warm welcoming at our arrival. At Durham House check in is as early as 3 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m.
The food here is amazing!
This B&B was booked for my wife and I by a friend. The rooms are furnished in the 1800 Style with 14 foot high ceilings, with your own private refrigerator in each room, and bathrooms the size of small apartments in for each room. The rooms are very clean, neat, and well arranged to make you feel right at home. Also, each room comes with its own private patio overlooking the surrounding Garden and breathtaking views of the property.

The secluded 5 foot swimming pool in the backyard is accommodated with an outdoor fireplace and plenty of lounge chairs and patio tables to enjoy the surrounding Garden. Also There is a gazebo and fountains throughout the surrounding Gardens on this property for guests to enjoy (weather one is reading a book or taking a romantic walk with a significant other) this is truly a getaway you will remember for years to come. Did I mention that the food here is absolutely amazing? There are vegan and gluten-free options available as well.
