My husband and I have stayed at this no frills motel. It is clean, comfortable, new carpet comfortable beds, fridge/microwave, nice shower and above all the management is terrific. There is one way out and one way in. Very safe. Very affordable. NO PETS. No exceptions, other than that, I highly recommend this motel. I have always felt safe. For a refinery worker, can't beat the location. Price.....well, it's great. It is not the lap of luxury but it is all you need when you are on the road. No pool or hot tub. Clean sheets and towels and the Nick will take the best care of you. I will stay here when on business.

We prefer Hotels rather than Motels because we don't like our room opening directly to the outdoors. Hotels seem safer to us and thought the room was neat and clean and the staff was friendly, we probably will choose another location next time in town. The Breakfast Buffet was outstanding. Safe Travels.

Due to immense traffic delays from Nascar, trip to Eureka had to find something closer at 9pm. Hotel offered a 2 room suite for US$200.||||Would not take Amex, paid cash - did not receive a receipt. Rooms had dirty floors, kitchen area was dirty and old. Power supply was very dated (2-prog plugs) and we could not use a 3-prong plug. Being involved in Facilities Management, Electrical work looked DIY.||||While the owner was pleasant, certainly not worth $80 for the night (let alone $200) and taking 2 rooms at the motorway lodges nearby ($60-70 each) would have been better.||||Feel this is better as a "cheap residential" option for San Francisco workers who cannot afford San Fran rent and may get a monthly deal.

We booked two rooms the day before we planned on visiting Six Flags. We could not find any vacant rooms at the more upscale hotels. The rooms are very small but come with microwave, refrigerators, and free wi-fi (amenities we paid extra for at motel six five days earlier). The room is decorated with old furnature (think 70s), the wall paper under the fresh pain is peeling and lifting in spots. Towels are limited and the linens on the bed are sufficient for a warm summers evening (definity wish I had brought my own blanket!). All in all despite the run down apperance the rooms were clean, no detectable oder of pets or smoke, the bed was rather comfortable, and it was a place to rest before our big day at six flags. Do not stay here if you are overly picky about apperances. If like us you just need a place to sleep this hotel will fit the bill. And for the price we really did not expect more than we got.

Entsetzlicher Zustand der Zimmer! Innenausstattung extrem alt, extrem abgenutzt. Zudem alles total dreckig! Das einzige, das geputzt war, war das Waschbecken und das Klo. Staubgesaugt war nur im Eingangsbereich, die Ecken waren dreckig. Die Flächen waren nicht abgewischt, es lagen Krümel und Staub auf Tisch, Kommode etc. Der Teppich war uralt, völlig ausgegilbt und verfärbt, tausende Flecken und Brandlöcher, die Originalfarbe war nur noch im Schrank erkennbar. Im Badezimmer waren Seifenreste in der Wand an der Dusche, die Spiegel waren voller (Wasser-)Flecken, das kleine Wandregal war klebrig vor Dreck. Die Vorhänge hatten tausende kleiner Stockflecken. Die Handtücher waren sehr klein und dünn und von geringer Qualität, außerdem dreckig (teils graue Spuren, teils gelbe Flecken). Als Fußabtreter vor der Dusche gab es ein Papierset. Die versprochenen "toiletries" bestanden aus einer kleinen Handseife.||Der Kühlschrank war uralt und von innen total dreckig! Er war ausgeschaltet und die Tür geschlossen, dementsprechend stank es in dem Ding natürlich. Das Telefon war ebenfalls uralt und es war total eingestaubt und klebrig - offensichtlich jahrelang nicht saubergemacht. Die Mikrowelle war von außen und innen dreckig, lediglich der Drehteller innen war sauber.||In der Beschreibung im Internet war von Kaffeezubereitungsmöglichkeit die Rede, das war nicht vorhanden.||Die Laken hatten Löcher und Flecken, die Überdecke ebenso. Eine Schublade der Kommode war kaputt und hing schräg in der Öffnung, innen war Dreck und ein großer klebriger Fleck.||Insgesamt herrschte ein merkwürdig süßlicher Gestank, der auch mit intensivem Lüften nicht zu beseitigen war. Den Pullover, den ich nachts über der Stuhllehne hängen hatte, hat den Geruch derart stark angenommen, dass man ihn nicht mehr anziehen konnte.||Das Motel liegt in einem wirklich schlechten Stadtteil, man kam sich auch nicht wirklich sicher vor, durch die Fenster kann jeder Laie einbrechen.||Das einzig gute: das Bett war bequem und ich habe keine Floh- oder Wanzenstiche bekommen - habe mich und das aber auch mit einem Mittel eingesprüht.||Ich habe schon in vielen Hotels, Motels und Hostels geschlafen, aber solche Zustände habe ich noch nirgendwo gesehen. Bei uns würde man solche Zustände noch nicht einmal in einer Obdachlosenunterkunft finden.||Zum Beschwerdemanagement: Als ich in mein erstes Zimmer ging, hat mich beinahe der Schlag getroffen. Habe dann bei der Agentur angerufen, über die ich gebucht hatte, die versprachen Kontakt mit dem Manager aufzunehmen. Das habe ich dann als Druckmittel genutzt und selbst mit ihm gesprochen. Erst sagte er mir, dass dies das einzige freie Zimmer sei. Als ich sagte, dass 80 Dollar eine Unverschämtheit seien, meinte er, dass sei in der "Bay Area" normal. Dann bin ich richtig wütend geworden und habe ihm gesagt, dass ich keine ahnungslose kleine deutsche Touristin bin, sondern schon sehr oft in den USA und auch in San Francisco war und da wurde er schon etwas kleiner. Als ich dann gesagt habe, dass ich ein anderes Zimmer möchte und die Agentur schon Bescheid weiß, hat er mir dann ein anderes Zimmer gezeigt - plötzlich war also doch noch eines frei! Das war nur minimal besser, deswegen habe ich wieder nein gesagt und auf stur gestellt. 15 min später hatte er dann plötzlich noch ein drittes Zimmer anzubieten - das war dann ok, wenn auch immer noch eklig. Der Mann war wirklich unmöglich, lügt einem glatt ins Gesicht. Als ich bezahlt habe, hat er mir außerdem keinen Beleg gegeben, den musste ich extra einfordern. Auch ne Frechheit.

I stay at El Rancho because of the price point. I am a refinery/turnaround worker. So, value and cleanliness is first and foremost. Nick, the awesome manager, always makes my stay enjoyable. Bay area prices are high. So finding this gem was perfect for a reasonable place to stay. Not fancy, but clearly an affordable alternative. Decent location with a Starbucks and Subway within walking distance. A nice gas station a block away. Vallejo, but especially a trendy area, but I find it enjoyable. I mind my own business and love and let live. So, staying here is fine. I often travel alone. So, my friends, stay in Vallejo, then travel about discovering the Bay Area as I dowithout spending an atm and a leg for a place to lay your head down.

Doesn't deserve an x even!! Very bad service my husband booked a room for 3 months,drove 3 days only to be told they had no rooms..very irresponsible not to know if you have rooms or not isn't very professional. He has stayed there in the past but will never make that mistake again!!
