I’ve stayed at Foothill Retro Motel twice now, and both times have been a great experience! As someone who values cleanliness, I was so impressed with this hidden gem—everything was absolutely spotless. The staff is super friendly, and the retro vibe adds a unique charm. It’s clear they take great care of the place. Definitely recommend for a comfortable, safe, and exceptionally clean stay!

I hope people realize that any of the poor reviews were from years ago before it was renovated.
Our stay started with a warm, inviting welcome at the front desk. We were informed about the coffee, tea and water provided in our room and told if we needed any additional, not to hesitate to ask. The room was small but plenty for what we need and SPOTLESSLY clean. The queen bed was so, so comfortable.
This motel has leaned into it's retro vibe and I loved it. Easy to access from freeway, plenty of parking, quiet, and the front desk was very helpful with any and everything. We will definitely stay here again next time we are Auburn area. Thank you.

For the budget conscious this is a great place to stay on the way to or from Tahoe. Basic room is a bit on the small side but it is manageable. Clean comfortable and with a handful of in room amenities.
If you have the time the bowling alley is next door and so is a Tesla Charger (open to others with an adapter) for your EV needs. Location is great and in Feb we had a good/quiet night's rest. Absolutely a great value for money (don't think of a large chain hotel, but rather a clean, safe, quiet bed for the night).

Staff wonderful,, manager was so awesome and helpful. Our room was perfect and so clean I was so impressed. Style is so cute, awesome coffee machine with real creamer! Great bathroom coolest sink ever, great water pressure and patio with furniture so clean I thought it was new. Yes a real patio! Such a great price you definitely get more than you pay for. I recently stayed at the Foothills Motel, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always making sure I had everything I needed. The location was peaceful and scenic, yet close to local attractions.

This place was recommended by my brother who lives here and we were coming for a party. The staff is truly amazing and accommodating. We had changed the number of guests and they upgraded our room at no extra charge which was so nice. The rooms are clean and love the location and parking is in front of your room. I love the retro theme and how classic it all is. And you really can't beat the price. We will definitely be back! I love that there is a bowling alley and sports by near the motel and you get a discount if you stay at the motel.
