What a great find located along lovely tree lined Esplande in Chico. Tom & Margo are wonderful hosts. The three course breakfast was delicious and filling. I believe we were in room 3. Queen bed with a small private bath with a shower. Very clean and well organized. Small coffee maker in the room if needed. The bed and linens were comfortable and of good quality. |It's an easy walk to the Red Tavern restaurant. One of the best restaurants in Chico. We will certainly stay at the Goodman House again.

We first met Margo and Tom when we needed a place to stay in Chico while visiting family a few years back. Traffic from SF airport was crazy so we arrived late and frazzled. They welcomed us in and saw to all our needs. Our room was very comfortable with nothing overlooked. So, when we needed a place to stay this January while attending a family wedding we called Margo and Tom. Each breakfast was lavish and inspired with local foods. We felt pampered. They even helped us get ready for the wedding! Great memories! Deb and Rick

We wanted a break from the dreary drive down I-5 and decided to go through Lassen and then spend the night in Chico. What a good decision! We called ahead and booked a room at the Goodman House. We were greeted with enthusiasm and taken to beautiful room # 2. Chico gets hot, but our room was pleasant thanks to the air conditioning and ceiling fan. Margo made suggestions for dinner, and then made reservations for us at the nearby Red Tavern. Breakfast was sooooo good. My husband won't stop talking about it. We felt pampered and appreciated even though we were there for fewer than 24 hours. Much nicer stay than at a chain hotel in Redding!

It's a lovely old Victorian on the tree-lined Esplanade on the north side of town. It's been lovingly restored, and the hosts are very friendly and accommodating. The port and sherry offered in the upstairs lounge was a pleasant touch. The breakfast was superb, and they even allowed a couple not staying there to join us for breakfast.||The rooms are full of period furniture and very pleasant, though ours was a bit on the tight side compared to more modern accommodations.

Stayed here for 4 nights while traveling in the Chico area. We had a marvelous stay at the Goodman House. Margo and Tom are enjoyable people and it was a pleasure talking to them. Margo did a very nice breakfast, each morning, that varied nicely from day to day. You select the time for breakfast to fit your schedule, rather than having a set breakfast time. Our room was very nice and beautifully appointed. You can either opt for off street parking or on street parking, neither is a problem. We opted for parking on the street because of the shade provided by large trees. Goodman House is within easy walking or driving distance to many good to fine restaurants. Would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Chico

We were attending a wedding in Chico and found the Goodman House with a google search. It is a beautifully appointed inn, wonderful hosts, comfortable room and a delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend staying there!!!

My husband and I live nearby and were looking for an affordable and close weekend vacation for our anniversary. We've stayed in other B and B's and have enjoyed the experience so decided to give it a go! This house is exquisite, comfortable and authentic 1900s style with modern upgrades! The hosts were wonderful and accommodating. Since we were the only couple eating breakfast they asked what we would like and what we drank in the morning. The room was plush and comfortable and the decorations were modest and period appropriate. Much of the house has the original wood work and there are many pictures of the area history in the dining room. For visitors to the area they have many brochures of local attractions and areas of interest. Although we parked on the street, I did notice that there was private guest parking behind the house. If you are celebrating a honeymoon or anniversary the rooms with the claw foot tubs are a must! We will definitely be back!
