I had a bit of a panic when I had to come to SF for work at the last minute — a huge conference in town at the same time meant all the hotels were either booked or 3x the normal cost. My business has a more modest hotel budget per night so I had to look a bit more out of the city. I came across this hotel and read the reviews. Looked promising. I paid attention to all the reviews about how clean it was and what great service there was. And I found this to be true. ||I stayed three nights and really enjoyed this hotel. A very good value for the money. It feels like a brand new hotel. Very clean and people always around cleaning it seemed. Coffee and water available in lobby around the clock, a clean and well appointed gym with a lot of light and tvs, very good breakfast, and well sized rooms with great appointments. Sheets and pillows were above average, towels were thick. Heat / air worked quickly. I felt safe the whole time. Ordered door dash each night and great food close by. The neighborhood isn’t anything to write home about and you’re right off the 101 and looking right at it but once inside you’re in a very nice bubble. ||While San Mateo is a bit of a drive from the airport it was a great place to stay at a great price and I highly recommend!

Modern hotel with good sound isolation. Great view. Wide selection on breakfast. Cleaning service every other day, with a fresh set of towels provided daily upon request. Responsive and always available front desk personnel. Cool gym. Very busy and rather crowded on a random January weekend.

We chose this hotel due to its proximity to our work location. Parking was easy, staff helpful, gym was well stocked and clean, decor was modern and attractive, rooms quiet and comfortable, lobby seating areas were spacious and comfortable. We ordered dinner delivered to the front desk and ate in the pleasant dining area. Daily hot breakfast was good and hours were reasonable. We enjoyed daily lemon water, mint water, hot coffee and tea from the lobby. Great hotel for business travel! Only negative was poor shower water pressure.

I was in a bit of a jam and was able to stay at the Hampton Inn San Mateo last minute. Cameron Howell and his staff provided exceptional service. They are friendly, courteous and very accommodating. The shared spaces within the hotel are immaculate and the rooms are very clean. The gym is amazing with a Peloton bike and treadmills.This will be my hotel of choice when I come back to San Mateo.

Excellent hotel. Very clean and spacious, both living quarters and the lobby/dining area. Super friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast offering. The only 2 things I'd say were negatives were room lighting (a bit dark) and the barn door for the bathroom left little privacy for light, sounds, noise control. A door would be more effective. I'd recommend this hotel.
