Worst of all. If you’re looking for safety, Harbor Cove is NOT the place.

We’ve had our packages stolen MULTIPLE times from the package room, which is supposed to be secure and only for residents. Our bike was also stolen from our own patio! On top of that, I have seen rats multiple times, and management doesn’t take it seriously. Instead of fixing the problem, they make us clean the mess or charge a $35 fee for it. And it it’s not take as important as we have to wait multiple days for they to come and check if we do not have rats living in our patio.

When we first moved in, the apartment wasn’t even clean. We had workers randomly show up on our patio, move our stuff without permission (we just know that because of our camera), and leave dangerous things like nails behind. No notice, no respect, and zero accountability.

Living here has been an absolute nightmare. Don’t waste your money!

Challenges with Soundproofing and Management Response

I moved into Harbor Cove with the expectation of a peaceful and comfortable living experience. While there are positive aspects to the community, the lack of effective soundproofing in the building has been a significant and ongoing challenge.
Since 2023, I have been dealing with noise issues primarily due to the thin floors and walls, which make it difficult to block out sounds from neighboring units. When I first reported this issue, management responded by notifying the upstairs neighbors. While this approach was appreciated, it did not address the root cause—the inadequate sound insulation.

Recently, the noise became so persistent and disruptive that I had to report the issue again. Unfortunately, the management's response has remained largely the same: asking neighbors to be mindful and requesting that I provide recordings of the noise. Despite my efforts to document the disturbances, I was informed that the recordings were “not clear enough” and was advised to engage in face-to-face mediation with the neighbors.

This situation has been frustrating because it places the burden of resolution on the tenants rather than addressing the structural issue. It is worth noting that reviews on multiple platforms have highlighted similar concerns about the building's soundproofing. Despite this, it appears that the management has not taken meaningful steps to address the problem at its core.

While I understand that managing a large property comes with challenges, I believe tenants deserve proactive solutions to maintain a livable environment. At a monthly rent of nearly $3,500, I expect more comprehensive support from management in resolving issues that impact quality of life.

If soundproofing and noise sensitivity are important to you, I recommend thoroughly evaluating your options before choosing to move here. My experience has been mixed, and I hope management considers more effective measures to address these concerns for current and future residents.

We just moved in last week and are already having problems.
We toured the unit we would be moving into and moved in a week later. On the day of move in we noticed the floors were filthy, most likely from all the people touring the unit. It would have been nice if they cleaned up before we moved in.
On the day of move in we also noticed ants everywhere. In the bathroom, bedrooms and swarming the patio. We went out and bought spray and traps immediately to deal with this issue before moving in our stuff, a big delay.
And then while we are moving in our stuff we notice we can hear EVERY step our upstairs neighbors take.
We have now been living there a week and neither of us can sleep because we can hear constant stomping and talking above us.
Also someone is hammering the walls at 11:30PM on a Wednesday night.
Me and my partner loved the community and the unit when we toured it, but now both regret signing the lease.

The location is unbeatable. Access to the park and businesses in the area is ideal. The buildings have not been updated. While there have been efforts to maintain the exterior (siding), the interiors of the buildings (hallway carpets, paint, windows, floors) are showing advanced age, wear, and tear. The garbage collection situation is an eyesore between pickups. Landscaping has been spotty, recently, with overgrown vegetation. There was a consistent issue regarding access to hot water due to a malfunctioning boiler. There's nothing worse than preparing for your day only to be met with cold water in the shower. The office staff were responsive, and the maintenance folks are really good. It's not a terrible place. It just needs some love.

I recently moved within Harbor Cove, upgrading to a two-bedroom apartment from another apartment in the Harbor Cove apartment, and the experience was beyond disappointing. Despite promises of a smooth transition and an apartment in pristine condition, my partner and I encountered numerous issues that have left us deeply dissatisfied.

We were shown a beautiful sample unit and assured that our new place would be of the same quality. However, on move-in day, after waiting over two hours to receive the keys due to unfinished painting, we walked into an apartment that was in terrible condition. Among the many issues were:

1. Worn, scratched kitchen marble counters.
2. Rusty, old washing machine.
3. Dirty, rusted oven with inoperable trays.
4. Kitchen cabinets improperly installed.
5. Rust on all bathroom mirrors.
6. Weak water flow.
7. Ceiling water damage in the second bedroom.
8. Excessive scratches on the floor.
9. Loose, unstable curtain rods.
10. Unable to unlock patio exit.
11. Filthy appliances – hair and dirt in the dishwasher, refrigerator, and washing machine.
12. Mold and dirt in the washing machine rubber seal
13. Rusty medicine cabinet in the master bathroom.
14. Noisy fan in the second bathroom.
15. Heating system emitting a burning smell.
16. Missing patio frame.
17. Rusted, dirty sewer opening in the second bathroom sink.
18. Drain cover in Kitchen sick is missing.

Despite repeated complaints, maintenance only addressed some of the problems—and even those were done poorly, leaving visible rust stains on the replaced mirrors. We had to accept appliances from our old apartment because what was provided was unacceptable, especially since I’m pregnant and concerned about hygiene.

To make matters worse, the apartment was filthy. Despite paying for cleaning services in our previous apartment, the new unit was a mess. I had to clean the floors multiple times, and the kitchen cabinets were dirty. It was shocking, especially considering how much we’re being charged for rent.

Another major issue was noise. The noise from the neighbors above is unbearable. It’s so bad that it wakes me up in the middle of the night, and I’m eight months pregnant. It’s like there’s no insulation between the floors, which is ridiculous for a place like this.

Overall, this move has been one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had, especially given how much we were looking forward to this upgrade. The management’s lack of response, hostility, and failure to address our concerns fairly has been incredibly frustrating. I would not recommend Harbor Cove based on this experience.

It’s important to note that it has been a week since our move, and the issues remain unresolved. Despite sending an email outlining all the problems, we have not received any follow-up or communication from management.

The rent is very high for the quality of the buildings, and utility bills are so expensive. There’s also a mandatory $100 sewage fee each month, $40 for a dumpster based trash, plus separate bills for hot and cold water.
Also, Don’t expect to get your deposit back, regardless of the condition you leave the place in. On top of that, you’ll have to pay an additional ~ $300 for cleaning and replacing low-quality light fixtures.
The two stars are solely for the location and some nice people work at the management/ maintenance team.
