It USED to be great, helpful friendly staff, other campers would socialize around the firepit or go for boat rides on the lake... However, new owners bought the place now it sucks. They raised prices across the board. All the spots were raised overnight & Now they want 1300 monthly For the same cabin that was 450.! Made all these new rules that promote isolation. Not the homey/friendly it once was, sad.

I wouldn't even give them 1 star if it wasn't necessary to write a review. I live in VERY close proximity to Moonrise and the new owners are a joke. All they are doing is raising the prices of everything and running all the older/fixed income folks out, folks that mind you have been there for years. Getting with the state and county to see what can be done about them. Not getting permits for repairs, taking parking away from people that have no driveways, charging for boat slips now when boats use to be able to be parked on property. My family has been VERY close to Moonrise for over 30 years, the idea that the new owners will make Moonrise a 5 star resort is a joke. I stand with all the current residents that are left!!

This place was great to stay at. My brother and I were visiting through Floral City. What a great view right on the lake. The stars at night were nothing I’ve ever experienced. Stacey was really sweet and checked us in with no problem. The cabins were cute and clean. The place smelled great and had no complaints. The bed was really comfortable and I liked that it it had a kitchen and living room. I enjoyed the patio at night too. I would recommend this place to anyone who is traveling through Floral City.

We rv'd, beautiful spot right on the lake. Office staff very rude. No information was given to us about anything. We paid for our site back in February. The office staff came looking for us for payment. I thankfully had my receipt to show her I had paid. A friend stopped by he was a handicapped wheelchair bound man with a van She was very short and rude to him. Trash can was overflowing. The pontoon boat we rented was in disrepair. The seats were all torn up, it was dirty.

Several weeks ago we had a mini-reunion at the Moonrise Resort. We rented two of their lakefront cabins and had the best time. The cabins are old, but clean and comfortable, with all of the amenities necessary for a good family time. We brought our own boat ( boats are available for rental) and launched at the on site ramp. We toured the beautiful lake (just a portion, as it is quite large) and visited a food truck - restaurant accessible by water. We fished off of the docks adjacent to our cabins and some of our party enjoyed the free kayaks on the lake. The restaurants in adjacent Inverness proved to be quite good. The hosts were very helpful and worked to make us feel welcome. Not our first stay and certainly not our last. Can't wait to return when t's cooler.

We needed a quiet place to escape the everyday world. Base on the reviews I read online, this seemed to fit the bill. We arrived to find a very clean and comfortable waterfront cottage as described. We were on the lake, near the marina and next to a large fire-pit area. The view was superb....beautiful trees lined the lake. We were warmly welcomed and all of our questions were readily answered. We were referred to local places for meals (all excellent). Our cottage had a fully equipped kitchen but we opted not to cook. ||Rowboats and canoes were included in the rental and pontoon boats are available to rent at a fair price. Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the nice fire pit due to the "burn ban" in Florida. (drought)||We plan to return! Moonrise Resort was exactly what we needed!||There was one downside...Those annoying bugs called "blind mosquitoes" were everywhere. Of course this was out of the control of the owners but I would recommend asking about them if you call for information.

It was very hard to reach anyone to make a reservation. With that being said the people are very nice. The view from the cabins is just exceptional boat ramps dock everything very good rooms not so clean but for a fishing camp situation acceptable. We had a great time met some lovely people and will definitely be going back

II was here with my husband last year during fall. It is such a beautiful place. My husband got me this cabin for our anniversary and it was just so romantic. Our Cabin was on the lake and have the most amazing views you can imagine, also the cabin was very clean and loaded with all you need for a get away during the weekend. We were both very impress with the warm customer service. The guy that manage the place and her wife left us a card and a bottle of wine for our anniversary, that was a huge surprise then at nightfall they fire up the fire pit that is in the middle of the cabins and looking at the lake, it was just so nice .||we will definitely try to be back this year and
