Sort of a mixed bag.|On the plus side, I appreciate that my request was granted for a room minimizing the number of stairs to climb/descend. The room was clean and comfortable enough, although I would have liked a desk or even just a small table. |Four things were on the minus side:|1. It was a frustrating wait that added several minutes to my fare, as my ride-share driver tried to locate a non-existent address.|2. Apparently management is unfamiliar with (or indifferent to) fragrance allergies. Mine were triggered as soon as I opened the door by the floral scent of a diffuser. (Allergy aside, flooding the place with fragrance makes me wonder what's being masked.) To make the room habitable, I had to place the diffuser inside a cabinet and air the room by opening the sliding glass door. |3. The cleaners disregarded a “do not disturb” tag I hung on the door the next morning. Not only did they move my belongings that I didn't want moved, but also they took the diffuser out of the cabinet and replaced it on the counter. |4. I emailed management about items 2 and 3 above. No reply.

Just completed a successful stay at Noon on Sunset Hill. It was a perfect place for us, location wise, but I could see where this place would not satisfy some travelers.||Before I get too far, I will state that this hotel is 100% unacceptable for anyone with mobility issues. If this is you, stop reading now and find another place.||The best way I could describe this is if someone took a 4 bedroom house and turned it into 4 separate Air BNBs. It is not a “hotel” is the modern sense. It has a common kitchen, stocked in the way you would expect an Air BNB might be. It also has a common front porch. The rooms are most like what you might expect in a hotel. All communication is done electronically. There was no staff on site other than housekeeping for a few hours||As stated in other reviews, the walls are quite thin. You will hear outside noise and other guests. We were here when many rooms were empty, so our stay was fine. ||This would be a great place to stay for a Dodger game, as the park is easy walking distance.||One final note is… if you plan on simply handing the address off to your ride share driver, you will not be successful. Use the instructions the innkeeper sends you via e-mail on the day of your check in. You either take the stairs at 1428 and take a right at the gated sidewalk… or you go in on the alley literally where Google maps has its red pointer.||All in all, my complaints are minor and I had a successful stay, but if you are expecting a hotel-chain experience you won’t get that here.

Nothing wrong with this place, it was clean and well appointed, just the lack of staff and a reliance on access codes was slightly disconcerting particularly given that the doors needed locking behind them as you left (meaning they were only as secure as the most forgetful guest). The bed wasn't terribly comfortable, and it was an odd decision to leave a fancy drip coffee set up, but with only instant coffee provided. The only lamp in the room was also temperamental and prone to sparking, so we unplugged it. More thought appears to have been made on the aesthetic (Ikea, predominately), than perhaps the overall functionality of the place. Regardless, it served a purpose and wasn't bad.

Was a bit worried about the location after reading previous reviews but we didn’t have any issues with the neighbourhood. We managed to park at the back of the property upon arrival and it was great to be so close to Echo Park and Silver Lake. We found a ton of great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and was pretty straightforward to catch the bus downtown. We were out exploring most of the time but slept well in the room; we could hear people walking around upstairs but overall it was comfortable and we appreciated the in-room fridge, perfect for snacks! We used the communal kitchen a couple of times and didn’t bump into anyone. Would be great if the kitchen was equipped with a few cupboard staples e.g. salt. Overall an enjoyable and reasonably priced stay for a few days in LA.

My husband and I had a great stay at this property for a long weekend in LA! Anyone talking about the location being 'sketchy' must not be used to LA proper. I found the walkability to Echo Park & Silver Lake to be great and we felt this property was a good value for our money. My only complaint is that the lighting in our room wasn't great. Would stay here again!

the location is not great. we had homeless people around our car on both days. we didn’t feel safe. also the way to get there is not so safe. off course there are a lot of junks & homeless people
in whole LA but we weren’t expecting to have them around the hotel.

the room was not clean, hairs in shower and bathroom from previous guests.

there is also a lot of noise on the streets, a dog barking the whole 2 nights. very thin walls so you can hear all the neighbors.

To resume; this is the typical Instagram “fake” hotel. It looks all pretty and nice on photos but it’s not in real life. Everything needs already an update and they pictures they are showing are taking in such a way
it looks amazing but the true is, it’s not.

Found this place for a last minute work trip. Not quite what I was expecting. Not great but not terrible. Luckily I found a parking space in the back because there are a lot of stairs and I have heavy luggage. Even more stairs from the front.

There is a communal area but I never saw anyone. Room was very small but the bathroom and shower were really nice. The AC wall unit could not get the place cool enough for me but it was comfortable.

Echo park is walking distance which was nice. Outside patio on 2nd level was very cool.

Again not my cup of tea but was ok.

This is more like an Air B&B than a hotel. It's all do it yourself. You get a code to open the front door and your room door. There is no staff on site. Cleaners do come, however. The good parts - it's newly renovated; has a very generous bathroom and big shower; bed is quite comfortable; towels are generous and fluffy; there's a coffeemaker, frig and TV with Netflix. A big closet and reading lamps next to the bed sides. Shared among the three rooms on our floor was a full kitchen, living room area and washer/dryer/iron, and an general use bathroom. Oh, and a cool balcony that is shared. The less good parts - the outer door needs to be locked by you or the other guests; if you (or they) forget, then the place is not secure, except for the door to your room. Also, you need to be pretty mobile. It's a walk up a bunch of steps on uneven concrete sidewalk, then stairs from the front gate to the front door, then two sets of stairs to your room. The outside area is not well lit. The shower and toilet do not have any grab bars. The neighborhood is okay but not well-lit. So overall it is a lovely facility, especially the kitchen and balcony area. And a good value for staying in LA!
