Super friendly reception staff. Cool and comfortable lobby/lounge area, with plenty of spaces to work either alone or in groups. ||||The room decor was exactly as shown in the pictures. The only downsides were that the bathroom could have better lighting for applying makeup and the water flow in the shower was too weak to wash my hair in.||||The high point was the fun bar/restaurant. We had great cocktails and food at very reasonable prices. Breakfast in the morning was also great, with healthy options: we tried the fresh fruit/yogurt/granola bowl and avocado toast. Both delicious, and came out pretty quickly. ||||We would recommend the Ameswell!

This would be a 5 star review except for one issue which I'll go into in a bit. This is a hotel done right, though. Convenient location right off the freeway. Clean, friendly staff, convenient ordering method with great food (for kids, too), grounds for the kids to run around at night. Nice gym, room amenities are great, corner suite is HUGE, breakfast has really good options, not overpriced. Many EV chargers available, too.

The reason for 4 vs. 5 stars is that when we arrived to our room, the thermostat was set to 78. If this happens to you, do what we should have done and request another room. It was so hot. Immediately, I put it on cool max and turned the thermostat down to 70. After 3 hours, the room was still hot at 76. At that point, with our kids hot, too, I opened the door to the hallway and started fanning it for about half an hour. That got it down to 74, but it would stay at 74 all night despite being set to 70, meaning whatever they're using to cool these rooms simply does not work. I called the lobby for a fan, and their fix was to have engineering change the thermostat to 68, which didn't do anything as it wasn't even cooling from 74 to 73. Long story short, AC doesn't work well, slept hotter than we should have.

We are Canadian travelers jumping from hotel to hotel in the greater bay area.

While this hotel is quite beautiful, fairly new, well decorated. It falls flat on its face in some aspects.

#1 the staff is not the right fit. They are young and inexperienced, for a hotel of this caliber I expected well dressed and well spoken staff.

#2 the parking is 20$ per night.

#3 no breakfast included in the stay, not a big deal, but we did notice breakfast was quite expensive for what you get.

#4 the shower doesn't get very hot, and the nozzle pressure is very weak, this has been discussed in other reviews.

#5 room is too hot. Takes forever to cool down.

We did enjoy our room. However for the value we think we could have found a more suitable hotel. That being said, I'd rate it 3.5/5, and we would definitely stay here again.

Some highlights are easily accessible, lots of freeways nearby. Private and quiet area, gorgeous decor.

TL;DR Attitude problems of staff

I have been a repeat guest at this hotel, and previous stays have never been concerning. However, my recent experience was extremely disappointing. I repeatedly attempted to contact room service regarding cleaning, after two answered calls, my calls went unanswered, despite the front desk being occupied (I checked by immediately going directly to the front-desk). When I inquired in person about the delay, I was informed that room service was busy and that it would be completed in sometime for sure. After two hours, the room remained uncleaned. The front desk then stated that my request was outside of service hours and only towels had been changed. Nothing like this was conveyed to me before.

Furthermore, when I requested to speak with a manager, I was told they would only be available after 2-3 days and we can send an email to the manager if we want to. The front desk employee displayed a dismissive attitude throughout the interaction and did not seem like wanted to help us at all. While I generally appreciate the hotel's amenities, and some of the staffs have been nice to me, but this instance of unreliable service and the unhelpful demeanor is unacceptable, especially for a 5-star establishment. I hope management addresses this issue to prevent similar experiences for other guests. The lack of responsiveness and poor customer service are deeply concerning.
