The Cactai - Palm Springs, California

The Cactai is a lovely very small intimate hotel. There is no front office or reception. Just a few rooms surrounding a beautiful pristine swimming pool with white lounge chairs and yellow striped towels. Our superior room was enormous- almost like an apartment- and was tastefully decorated in colorful spartan Palm Springs style. The bathroom was spacious with a roomy walk in shower and Japanese bidet toilet. All new and recently renovated. This room offered a kitchen but it lacked a freezer in the fridge (which was problematic as I brought many frozen items when I arrived assuming there was a freezer-which all went to waste). Also the smell of room cleaning products used prior to our arrival was really much too strong and windows needed to be opened to try to get rid of it. Housekeeping is on request by sign you put on door and the day I wanted it, they never came. But Monty, the concierge, was immediately helpful to provide service. He personally brought fresh clean towels to our room (which, by the way, are fluffy and thick). All in all, our 7 night stay at The Cactai was very pleasant.

What a delightful little mid-century boutique hotel! Right off of Palm Canyon drive but in a location that's quiet and calm. Gorgeous, kitsch design aesthetic, bougie amenities like an electronic bidet toilet complete with seat warmer and buns dryer! DELICIOUS coffee options in-room and clean, comfy beds to stretch out on. A patio I wish I had more time to enjoy and a lovely pool area that I also wasn't able to use but I will def stay here again so those are on my list for next time. Easy digital check in and terrific support from their concierge, Monty.

Great locale. Six minute drive to The Plaza with amazing food , shops and more. The room was…roomy. Very neatly appointed with a mid-century modern flair. Kitchenette is perfect for a weekend or longer. Bathroom has a super fancy toilet and the mirror is high tech. An amazing bed! Very firm yet UNREAL comfort. Very hands off regarding in-person welcome but refreshing for a late night arrival and not wanting to bother with a often belabored check-in process; gate and room code directions are excellent and easy-breezy.

This is a great location - close to downtown but feels quiet and peaceful. The outdoor area is great with lots of seating around the pool and a hot tub. I love the details in the room - from the bright wallpaper to the mid century furniture - everything gives off a very Palm Springs vibe. Everything was very comfortable as well. It was nice to have our own patio for quiet times too.

Little gem in the desert! All the retro feels with modern amenities. Had a great time relaxing by the pool and in the hot tub! The fully stocked (reasonably priced) mini bar was just a few steps away! Downtown Palm Springs was an easy walk with many great restaurants right around the corner. Can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful place to stay. You can't go wrong with this motel. Good location and great decor. Love the high tech toilet. Clean and a good sized room.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cactai. We were en route from S.F. to Phoenix with our elderly dog and the place was perfect. Decor is lovely and hip, pool and hot tub are warm (with beautiful views), and rooms are clean with great amenities. Location is also hard to beat. Wish we could have stayed longer.

What a great new motel option for Palm Springs! Super clean with quality furnishings for a reasonable price; beautiful pool space with some great recliners. We hope to return. The location requires about a 20 minute walk in the downtown.
