Good to know: All money transactions are done with check. Deposit is paid by check in advance and by snail mail. That's different these days for sure. The owner/hostess has no email contact. You can contact by phone. Cottage was down about a dozen steps and in back yard of the 3 story 1800's home. There were 3 cottages. Nothing fancy. Everything looks, well, a little worn. I never went into the large home. I had a heavy piece of luggage which I had to carry down the steps because the owner was afraid it would chip the rock steps. That was a difficult task for me. I had at least 45# plus to lift plus a heavy little shoulder bag.
The Claude Monet Cottage: Small, Victorian decor. Cute but very "cozy." Decor was worn. The bed sits high so high one needs a 2 step stool to get in. Claw foot tub for showering is a bit of a stretch for a women like me in my 70's to get in and out without slipping. But I'm agile so it was ok for me. There's a small closet. No TV. No refrigerator. She provided a coffee maker after I asked. No place to store cream. Very small wicker table and chairs and a vanity for sitting. Nothing really comfortable but the bed. The mattress was very comfortable. the bed is where I used my laptop. Wifi was provided. Lots of down - comforter & pillows. I am allergic to down, dust, mites, molds. Bummer. I got asthma and had to check out early. (Note: I didn't see mold - but it was a Victorian and ... the walls, roof?) Asthma is new to me so I had failed to ask about down in the room. My fault.
I opted out of breakfast because it was an additional $40 a day and there is two very nice places just blocks away for meals. I highly recommend Sweetie Pies and also Buttercup Pantry.
The B & B is down the street and across Hwy 50 from the main street. There's a bridge over Hwy 50 to make it easy for pedestrians. It's a wonderful old Gold Country town. Fun to explore.
I chose the Seasons because of the price and the closeness to town. There wasn't enough photos on the website to really get a good idea what I was renting. If you don't mind cramped - "cozy" and you like the lower cost, you might really enjoy your visit.
The owner is very nice - about my age. I give her 5 stars.

My family rented out all of the B&B cottages while we were in the area for a friend's wedding at the venue just next door, and I can't say enough good things about this place or the woman who runs it, Robin. The cottages were adorable with hand-painted scenes on the walls and beautiful antique furniture, all nestled within a beautifully landscaped cottage garden oasis. The breakfast was all homemade from scratch and so incredibly good and Robin is an wonderfully generous host. I would highly recommend this lovely B&B to anyone and encourage you to strike up a conversation with the proprietor who is a true delight.

Beautifully curated cottages with European antiques and the most charming artwork which is surpassed only by the hostess, the beautiful and gracious Robyn. We love the Seasons and Robyn so much! Don’t hesitate!

The Seasons B&B is a great place to stay, particularly for anyone who seeks a quiet location that also is within walking distance to historic Placerville. Robin is a wonderful host(ess).||||We stayed at the Peach Cottage (once a chicken coop...which we never would have guessed, until she told us). The Cottage is clean and well-appointed for on-the-go travelers (very small TV, which we never turned on--small kitchen with small refrigerator--other amenities--comfortable bed--etc.). We had breakfast each morning on the Peach Cottage deck--wonderful, organic, fresh food that Robin brought directly to us. The location is ideal (on-the-street parking, which was safe and fine on the one-way street) and very peaceful and quiet. We were able to walk into town within 10 to 15 minutes.||||We definitely would stay at The Seasons B&B in the future. It was reasonably priced, clean, quiet, safe, ideally located, and comfortable.

I love The Seasons. The hubs and I have stayed here twice now and it was nothing short of fabulous! The grounds around the bnb are enchanting, beautiful and tranquil. We stayed in the peach cottage both times. It has a little kitchen and is quite roomy-sleeps 3. The best part is the breakfast. Outstanding homemade quiche, probably the best I’ve ever had no kidding. Berry turnovers from Apple Hill and fresh coffee… So good! It’s also a very short walk in to Placerville Main Street where there are tons of cute shops and places to eat, wine tasting, good beer etc. We will definitely be back again and again. Oh and I almost forgot. The seasons is pet friendly. We were able to bring our two little dogs who loved staying there as well. If you’re going to Placerville make it a point to stay here…you won’t regret it!

After not traveling out of the Bay Area in awhile we decided to revisit Placerville & stay at our favorite B&B, The Seasons! We were not disappointed…our room, the B&B on a 3/4 acre landscaped lust garden within walking distance to town rejuvenated our spirits after a tough year for our family. Robyn the owner is a warm host who cares about her guest making sure we were comfortable & informed about the local restaurants & activities. The morning breakfast on the outside deck…delicious!!! We’ll be back soon with our family!!! Bonnie & Ken B 🤗

Hubs and I did wine tasting in El Dorado County. Looked for a place to stay. We love B&Bs. Two separate cottages behind the main house built in 1859 where Robyn the owner lives. Cottages were once buildings used in a gold stamping business during the gold rush. Lots of antiques and interesting decor. Very good breakfast of quiche and pastries. Best part was the setting with the cottages in the sunken back yard. Lovely perennial gardens, benches and fountains under very old large trees. Quiet and contemplative. Lots of grass for dogs and it is completely and securely fenced to keep the deer out so will even accommodate large dogs. Robyn’s assistant Candace was a delight. Plus she helped carry our bags up a flight of steps to our car to leave.

Love The Seasons B&B. I've been here three times now and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Placerville. Historic property and Robyn knows all the history to entertain you with. Breakfast is always superb and not overfilling.||||Historic downtown is a hop, skip and a jump away. Love taking a day to stroll and shop and eat. ||||We always bring our three dogs with us. They love that garden. Plenty of room to explore and run around.||||Will return in 6 months.
